TikTok spending limits and billing thresholds

A new TikTok ad account paid by card starts on a low billing threshold: TikTok's documentation says the threshold for new automatic-payment accounts begins low and rises over time with spend, and a failed charge can pause campaigns. AdsPatch TikTok agency accounts have no spending limit. The account spends whatever budget you top up onto it from your AdsPatch balance, with top-ups from $500 completed almost instantly via API, and no card is attached to it.

What is a TikTok billing threshold?

On automatic payment, TikTok charges your card when spend reaches the threshold or the bill date arrives, whichever comes first. TikTok's documentation says the threshold is shown in Business Center under Finance, Payment management, that a Financial Manager can lower it, and that it rises automatically as spend grows or on request to TikTok support.

Why does a new TikTok account feel limited?

A low threshold means many small charges, and every charge is a chance for the card issuer to decline. A decline pauses delivery, usually on the day a campaign starts to scale.

There is a second ceiling. TikTok's documentation ties the number of active ad groups an account may run to its highest monthly spend over the past 12 months, so a new account starts on the smallest quota. That quota applies to every TikTok account, agency accounts included.

Is a Budget Manager cap the same thing?

No. Budget Manager is a cap you set yourself in Business Center: monthly, daily or one-time, per ad account, and ads pause when it is reached. It is a control, not a limit TikTok imposes, and it works the same on an agency account shared into your Business Center.

Why does an AdsPatch TikTok account have no spending limit?

Your card is not on it, so there is no threshold for a card to fail at. You top up the account from your AdsPatch balance, it spends what is on it, and when the budget runs low you top up again, each top-up a dated line on your ledger.

Deposits are fee-free, commission is charged on top-ups at a rate agreed with you in writing before you deposit, and TikTok accounts are funded in USD only. TikTok's own review, policies and ad group quotas still apply.

When AdsPatch is not the answer

If your own account's threshold has already grown with your spend and your card has never declined an advertising charge, the spending limit is not your problem, and an agency account adds a commission and a counterparty for nothing. If your ads stopped because they were rejected rather than unpaid, the cause is creative or policy, and no account changes that.

If one of the cases above is yours and an agency account is the right answer, we provide accounts on nine platforms from one balance: the first is live within 1 hour of a confirmed deposit, a banned one is replaced within 30 minutes, and every deposit gets an EU invoice. Our team has worked in this industry since 2019.
